What is Adventure Often, Love Always?

Well we made it guys, we made it to the first post. After many months of thinking, and contemplating exactly what I am going to do, I just finally decided to go for it. I mean that is how life is right? Sometimes we can over think about the decisions in our life, and then we can even talk ourselves out of the things that are true and dear to our hearts. That brings me to why I am even writing this blog.

Well it started about a year ago. Our family had just moved to a new city, I had just started a new job, and it seemed as though there was a lot of uncertainty of where our family was at and where it was going. Then came family camp. Family camp was orchestrated by the great men and women of Abundant Life Lee’s Summit, and with a long drive to Oklahoma we found ourselves at the inagarual Family Camp Abundant Life.

We didn’t know what to expect. We had heard there was going to be a lot of time together to really get to understand who each other was. We heard there was going to be swimming, a zip line, an amazing water slide, and a bunch of time outdoors. So we signed up. But man, out of all the things that we got to do together, and the many adventures we had, the best part happened during on of the family think sessions.

The question was asked, “If you had to create a family motto, what would it be?”. That’s when Krissie’s, my wife, ideas started flowing. As a family there are some things that we really value, and we wanted to try and encompass as many of those as we could into our motto.

The things that came to mind were:

1. Honesty

2. Love

3. Traveling

4. Quality Time

5. Communication

I am sure there are more, but those were just the ones that we could think of at the moment. Then it hit Krissie, and she said well we want to make sure that we are always loving the people around us, and since we like to travel we could do something with that. And BAM! How about it is “Adventure Often, Love Always”. And so it begins. Our family’s goal it to cherish and treasure each moment that we get to spend with one another, while showing each other love, and the people around us love.

So that is what this thing is about. It is about the little stories and lessons in my families’ lives, and how they might be able to help you out along the way. We will be talking about adventures great and small, but most of all we will be talking about how to love in the moment. How to give generously, and how to really try and live this life to the fullest.
